Dog hit by train alive and wagging
12 March 2010

A dog hit by a train has begun wagging its tail again after years of intensive nursing.

A dog hit by a train has begun wagging its tail again after years of intensive nursing.

Tyler has had three operations after he "miraculously" survived a train hitting him at 80mph in 2007.

The five-year-old Gordon Setter suffered a broken leg and smashed pelvis in the accident at Cheshunt, Hertfordshire.

Owner Leanne Hill, 41, of Waltham Abbey, Essex, said her pet started walking within months but he could not move his tail.

She said vets were contemplating removing the tail before she came across a new nutritional supplement.

"His tail just hung down to the left. It seemed dead," said Mrs Hill. "The vets were saying 'Do you want to get that tail removed?'

"But I didn't want to do that because we'd been through so much with him since the accident.

"Then, in about November, I noticed this new supplement, Yumove, which they said helped mobility in dogs.

"We started treating him and within a few weeks he was wagging his tail again."

She added: "It really was a miracle that he survived. You wouldn't think it possible. A railway worker told us that we'd probably never even find him."
